About Me
I am a professional software engineer based in the United Kingdom who has experience working within the satellite, security, and naval domain. I taught myself Visual Basic when I was eight years old and naturally progressed to different languages and technology. Game development, security and reverse engineering were key topics I focused on in my youth. Ultimately, I pursued a career in software due to the passion I have held for computer science. Like most software engineers who started young, it is the problem solving that motivates me.
I decided to work within the Defence & Aerospace industry for variety; one day could involve tapping the hardware with a probe, the next may revolve around writing React components. Additionally, the digital transformation occurring within established industries has unearthed many challenges, and with the continuous advent of novel technologies will continue to do so. I enjoy integrating new technology and experimenting with different approaches to counter these problems: bureaucracy can slow things down for sure, but the impact of your work is magnified.
This blog is just a place for me to dump some of my learnings from topics I am interested in, and if that is beneficial to anyone other than me that is a bonus. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions on topics I have covered!
